There are a few different user controlled options on your 9508 phone that you can customize to your liking. These tips will teach you these options.
- First, press the A-Menu key, which looks like an “A”, just above the 2 key in the dial pad, the center of the 3 buttons.
- From here you have 4 options, we’re only going to focus on 2 of the options, Call Settings and Screen & Sound.
- We’ll start with Call Settings
- To select Call Settings either press the OK button, as the selection should already be highlighted, press the select key or press the button to either side. You can also use the arrow keys to scroll up or down if it’s not already highlighted.
- From here you have 4 options to customize; Visual Alerting, Audible Alerting, Audio Path and Show Phone Screen.
- To select any of these options to customize, scroll down to the option you want and press the left or right arrow key to toggle the selection. After changing any of the options, make sure you press the Save key at the bottom left of the display.
- Visual Alerting: The message waiting lamp at the top-right corner of the phone can also be used to indicate when you have a call alerting your phone. The lamp is flashed to indicate a call waiting to be answered.
- Audible Alerting: You can control whether your phone will audibly ring or not. Note, if you turn Audible Alerting off, Visual Alerting will automatically be turned on.
- Audio Path: By default, when you make a call or answer a call without lifting the handset, the audio is played through the phone’s speaker while you speak via the phone’s microphone. If you have a headset attached, you can change the phone’s behavior so that the audio is played through the headset by default rather than the speaker.
- Show Phone Screen: This option only applies to the A-Menu screens accessed when you press the key. If this option is on and you receive a call while in the A-menu, the phone will automatically exit the menu and display the call details.
- Next we’ll go to Screen & Sounds
- You can select this option the same way you access you Call Settings
- From here you have 5 options to customize; Brightness, Contrast, Personal Ringing, Button Clicks and Error Tones.
